Dustin Olson
Chief Executive Officer
Dustin Olson is Chief Executive Officer for PureCycle Technologies. Prior to joining PureCycle in 2021, Olson spent more than 20 years developing a diverse career path across refining, olefins, specialty chemicals, and specialty polymers throughout the United States, The Netherlands, and China. Earlier in his career, Olson held senior leadership roles in manufacturing, commercial, and business support functions in refining, commodity chemicals, and specialty polymer business units across the world. Olson holds a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla, a Master’s in Chemical Engineering from the University of Houston, and a Master’s in Business Administration from Rice University. He supports numerous educational endeavors as a Board Member for the Industrial Advisor Counsel at the University of Missouri-Rolla Department of Chemical Engineering (2009-12), the Rice University Jones School Alumni (2010-13), and the Steeleville High School Foundation (current). In 2021, Olson was honored by the Missouri University of Science and Technology as a new inductee to the Academy of Chemical Engineers.
Donald Carpenter
Chief Financial Officer
Donald Carpenter joined PureCycle as Vice President of Finance in March 2022. He brings more than 20 years of experience in corporate finance, treasury and strategic financial leadership across global organizations, from development-stage to Fortune 500 multinationals. His expertise spans capital markets and trading, deal structuring, financial risk management and global treasury operations.
Before PureCycle, Mr. Carpenter spent a decade at LyondellBasell, a global chemical company, where he served as Global Treasury Director based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and Director of Finance Strategy & Transformation. Earlier, he held finance roles at Transocean, the world’s largest offshore drilling contractor, focused on treasury, project finance and international joint ventures.
Mr. Carpenter is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Treasury Professional. He earned an MBA in Banking & Finance and a BBA in Accounting & Management Information Systems from Sam Houston State University.
Brad Kalter
General Counsel and Corporate Secretary
Brad Kalter has served as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary since January 2021. Mr. Kalter served as General Counsel, Chief Legal Officer and Secretary of United Insurance Holdings Corp., a property and casualty insurance holding company, from February 2019 to January 2021. From October 2015 to February 2019, Mr. Kalter served as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Exide Technologies (“Exide”), a battery manufacturing and energy storage business, overseeing global legal from 2015 to February 2019. Mr. Kalter was responsible for overseeing the legal functions of the organization including corporate governance, compliance, litigation and subsidiary management, as well as overseeing legal aspects of corporate financing transactions and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Kalter previously served as Vice President, Deputy General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Exide from 2009 to September 2015 and also as Exide’s Deputy General Counsel and Corporate Secretary from 2006 to 2008. Prior to joining Exide, Mr. Kalter served as General Counsel at Cotton States Insurance Group, a multi-line insurance group, from 1999 through 2003. Mr. Kalter holds a J.D. from Emory University and a B.A. in Political Science and Communications from the University of Pennsylvania.
Greg Barta
Chief Accounting Officer
Greg Barta joined PureCycle as Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer in December 2024. Mr. Barta has an extensive financial and accounting background, having worked with both publicly traded and privately held companies and businesses ranging in size from development stage entities to multinational conglomerates. His breadth of experience includes SEC financial reporting, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, debt and equity financing, as well as mergers and acquisitions.
Prior to joining PureCycle, Mr. Barta served 13 years as Corporate Controller of Magnera Corporation (formerly Glatflelter Corporation), an international specialty-engineered materials manufacturer. From 2001 to 2011, Mr. Barta held various financial and accounting roles with electric power producer Mirant Corporation (now part of NRG Energy, Inc.). Mr. Barta began his career as an auditor with Arthur Andersen.
Brett Hafer
Executive Vice President of Manufacturing
Brett Hafer joined PureCycle Technologies in 2021 and serves as Executive Vice President of Manufacturing. He is responsible for leading the company’s manufacturing operations, engineering, environmental health & safety (EHS), research & development, information technology, and digital initiatives.
Mr. Hafer brings more than 20 years of experience in operational leadership across oil refining, petrochemical, and polymer manufacturing industries in the United States and the Netherlands. He has a strong track record of building high-performing teams and driving improvements in safety, reliability, and operational efficiency.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin.
Wiebe Schipper
Vice President of European and Asia Pacific Operations
Wiebe Schipper joined PureCycle Technologies in 2022 and serves as Vice President of European and Asia Pacific Operations Mr. Schipper is responsible for leading the international team’s mission to establish and operate PureCycle’s first polypropylene recycling plants in Europe (in Antwerp port’s NextGen District, Belgium) and Asia (in IRPC’s eco-industrial zone in Rayong, Thailand and in Japan, with Mitsui). His team is also responsible for managing the commercial relationships with local and global partners that are headquartered in Europe. He represents the company in industry associations and initiatives such as Plastics Recyclers Europe and HolyGrail 2030.
Before joining PureCycle, Mr. Schipper worked at LyondellBasell and predecessor companies for 26 years in a variety of jobs, the last of which being CEO for QCP – Quality Circular Polymers, a joint-venture with Suez (later Veolia) for the mechanical recycling of polyolefins.
Mr. Schipper holds both a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering and a Professional Doctorate in Engineering from Delft University of Technology. He is based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
Tamsin Ettefagh
Chief Sustainability Officer
Ms. Ettefagh has over 32 years of experience in the areas of recycling and plastics recycling, including implementing a recycling collection program, running the recycling operations for a manufacturing recycling facility, purchasing raw materials, and selling recycled resins for plastic recycling companies. Previous to PureCycle, she worked as a Senior Consultant both in an independent capacity and for major consulting firms in the plastics recycling space, focusing on strategy and implementation to advancements in process, primarily in polyolefins. She has consulted for agencies, banks, potential plastic manufacturers on market conditions, types of supply, and how to evolve and diversify markets for recycled resins. Ms. Ettefagh has been an avid public speaker at conferences, symposiums, and in webinars for the past 25 years, and served on several Boards, including the Sustainable Packaging Coalition from 2019 to 2020. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Texas A&M University.
